I'm planning to quit my job and I know that the rules require giving two weeks' notice. But how should I format this letter correctly? Should I explain the reasons for leaving or just state the date of my last working day? I want to leave on a good note and not ruin my relationship with my boss.

Well, what can I say... The main thing is not to burn bridges. You never know when you'll run into your former boss or colleagues again.

I wrote my two-week notice letter and didn't know where to start either. It turned out there's a lot of information about 2 week notice letters at https://jobssite.ca/tips-for-writing-two-weeks-notice-letter/, it's pretty simple: the letter should be short, polite and to the point. You state that you're quitting, state your last working date and thank them for the experience. You don't have to explain the reasons, but if you have a good relationship, you can add a few words. You should also offer to help with the transfer of affairs - this leaves a good impression. This approach helped me maintain a great relationship with my former employer!
