Why is lingerie so expensive?

I really love buying what I think is stylish and pretty clothing, and I also like lingerie when it’s not just the usual, but really luxurious. But I don’t get why sometimes a lingerie set costs as much as a nice shirt or jeans. Aren’t lingerie brands overpricing their stuff?

Maybe you just haven’t found a truly quality, customer-focused lingerie brand yet? I’ve never had that problem. Well, not a problem, more like a question. I always try to assess what I’m paying for. If it’s just a super popular brand, then I’m probably only paying for the label. But if it’s a smaller brand that makes special lingerie for women, and I can tell it’s on a whole different level than the usual stuff from mass-market stores, then I’m all in.
